Counted cross stitch is a wonderful creative hobby which enables the stitcher to make personalized gifts for the special people in their lives. Large designs are normally framed as pictures. Professional framing is very costly but does bring the picture to life.

There are other ways of presenting completed cross stitch and there are many products on the market to enable the stitcher to give a small but practical gift. Kits are available for projects covering many subjects and some include the accessory also.  These can work out to be quite expensive.  If you have small amounts of fabric and threads in your workbox why not put them to good use.There are even more charts which cover even more subjects. Taking time to choose a subject for the person you have in mind tells them not only have you made the effort to make something but have chosen a subject they are interested in.

These are all small items and relatively inexpensive to purchase and readily available in most needlecraft stores

As these are small items the designs will take very little time to complete.  Some simple designs may only take an hour to complete.  A more detailed design will take longer.  Using designs with whole cross stitch only are much quicker to complete than if there are fractional stitches to work or backstitch.

The items are also practical for the person to display and they are likely to use them and not put them in a drawer and forget about them.
